I caught the news soon after it came out earlier in the day, but since it came out at the tail end of my evening break at work, I couldn't post much about it. At this point, I'd say that the bulk of my rage at 2016 has already been spent and I'm right now at the deep sadness stage of things. It's not often a parent passes on the day after their child does, and seeing Debbie Reynolds pass on earlier today, just one day after Carrie Fisher had, is tremendously heartbreaking. They might pin the cause of death to something else, but I think it's safe to say that we all know that it was due to a broken heart. It's not right that a parent be put in the position of burying their child, even a grown one. It happens all too often, I know, but it's still not right and heartwrenching. As sad as it is to see Debbie Reynolds pass on in these circumstances, I'd like to think it at least a small mercy that she won't have to face having to bury her daughter ahead of her.
Thoughts and Prayers for that family. They've suffered so, so much in the past two days.
